How to Reset Your FitBit Tracker? [Simplest Way]

FitBit has a lot of models and each model has it’s own different way to reset, but wait!! what? Why do you need to reset? There is a lot of difference in Reset and Restarting Fitbit trackers. We will talk about both.

Difference in Reset and Restarting FitBit Trackers:

Reset:

When you reset your fitbit Tracker, It actually means you’re wiping out all the data and resetting it as it was fresh.

Restarting:

Restarting Fitbit simply means you’re putting it on sleep mode, which will keep your all data saved.

When to Reset Fitbit Tracker?

Normally you don’t need to reset your tracker, but there could be different issues occur and it may become necessary to reset your Fitbit. When actually you need to reset? Following are some the main reasons:

  • Tracker Stopped Syncing.
  • Taps, Swipes and other buttons Stopped working.
  • Fitbit device isn’t turning ON.
  • Stopped tracking activities and collecting data.

If you’re facing any of the error, you need to once reset your tracker to make it working smoothly again.

Ways Reset Your Fitbit:

As we discussed earlier, Fitbit has different models and every model has it’s own different way to reset, So we will discuss about each here.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Alta:

  1. Connect your Alta with Computer through Charging Cable with USB Port.
  2. Attach the side of cable to your Fitbit tracker and it will start charging in a proper way.
  3. Look for a button on the end of charging cable side which is connected to USB port, Press that button three times within eight seconds, briefly pause between these three times.
  4. After exactly eight seconds of first press, you’ll see your fitbit tracker is restarting and it is showing their logo on screen.
  5. Unplug your charger and Cheers, Your Fitbit Alta is now reset and working fine.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Alta HR:

  1. Connect your Alta with Computer through Charging Cable with USB Port.
  2. Now connect the other end on tracker and make sure it is connected surely, When it is secured, the tracker will vibrate and you’ll see a battery icon on display which means you’re Alta HR started charging.
  3. Now press the button three times within four seconds, the button is on the other end which is connected to Computer. Do give a briefly pause between presses and you’ll see FitBit logo on screen and tracker will vibrate. It is restarted.
  4. Disconnect the cable from PC and Cheers, Your tracker is working fine now.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Blaze:

  1. Press and hold the back of your tracker and select buttons at the same time both left and bottom right buttons until the FitBit logo displays on screen, this might take 10 seconds.
  2. Leave buttons and Your tracker is restarted.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Charge:

Fitbit Charge

  1. Connect your charger with USB port in computer.
  2. Insert the other end in your tracker, connect the charger to your FitBit Charge and it will begin charging.
  3. look for the button, press it for 10-12 seconds until you see the FitBit logo displayed on screen with version number.
  4. Leave the button now.
  5. Disconnect your charger and your tracker is now restarted.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Charge HR:

  1. Connect your charger with USB port in computer.
  2. Insert the other end in your tracker, connect the charger to your FitBit Charge HR and it will begin charging.
  3. look for the button, press it for 10-12 seconds until you see the FitBit logo displayed on screen with version number.
  4. Leave the button now.
  5. Disconnect your charger and your tracker is now restarted.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Charge 2:

Fitbit Charge 2

  1. Connect your Charging cable with Computer USB port.
  2. Connect the other end on the back of tracker.Make sure it is locked securely with the port.
  3. Your charge 2 will only start getting charging when it is securely locked and that can only be done if the buttons are aligned with the button opening on charging cable. when the fitbit vibrates and you see the battery icon. This means you are good to go.
  4. Press and hold button for four seconds until you see the FitBit logo on display and your tracker vibrates.
  5. Unplug the charger and your FitBit Charge 2 is now restarted.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Flex:

Fitbit Flex

  1. Connect your charging cable through USB port with computer.
  2. Unblock the wristband and connect it with the charging cable.
  3. put a paperclip in the hole you see on backside of charger.
  4. press on the pinhole for 3-4 seconds exactly as you do sometimes with your mobile phone.
  5. remove the tracker from charger and insert it back in wristband. Your Fitbit Flex is restarted now.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Flex 2:

Fitbit Flex 2

  1. Connect the charging cable through USB port with your computer.
  2. remove the pebble from wristband and put it in charger, make sure it is locked securely by aligning dots.
  3. when the indicator lights start blinking and your tracker vibrates, this means your connection is secure and you’re good to go.
  4. now find the button on the charging cable.
  5. now you have to press the button three times within five seconds and each press it will vibrate and after the third press you’ll see all the lights turned on and blinking.
  6. Your Fitbit Flex 2 is restart and if in case you missed the lights but the charging resumed, This also confirms it is restarted.
  7. Your fitbit Flex 2 is now working fine.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit One:

Fitbit One

  1. Connect your charger through USB port with computer.
  2. Connect the gold contact on your charger with the gold contact on FitBit one, Put it in charger, Connect it.
  3. Look for the button on your Tracker and hold it for 10-12 seconds.
  4. remove your charger and press the button again. it will turn on the screen.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Surge:

Fitbit Surge

  1. Hold the left and bottom right button along with home button together until you see the screen flashes or start to dim, this won’t take longer than 10-12 seconds.
  2. leave buttons.
  3. Your screen will turn off. leave it for 10 seconds and then  press the home button, Your FitBit Surge will restart.

Method to Reset Your Fitbit Zip:

Fitbit Zip

  1. You got a battery door tool, Open the battery door using that tool and remove the battery completely.
  2. wait for at least 10 seconds after removing your battery.
  3. Put the battery back and make sure it’s face is up to + sign and close the door back. Your Fitbit Zip is restarted and working fine now.
